    4. Hi Ban, I like to have an Android version, but it is too much work, perhaps in the future when python (tool I use) and the libraries were more compatible.

  3. Hi Lucas,

I have version 9.06a but cannot find any of the generation 2 engines. I typically use ELO-Rating for playing, but those engines are never listed when the list shows the engines that can be selected for play.

To update to version 9.06a, I used the "Search for Updates" feature in the Information menu. Clicking on "About" in the Information menu confirms that I do have version 9.06a.

Am I supposed to download the generation 2 engines separately?

    Thanks!

  5. Hi Lucas,
I noticed for the last few versions that when playing Black..the scoring is always negative..is that correct? When I use Tutor, my move is always a better point value, then the Tutor;s suggestion. When I play white, it is not like this.
    Thanks!

    1. Hi, the program uses a fixed scoring system, if positive white is winning and if negative black. In the first versions the score was from user point of view.
Now, if you are playing black, less positive numbers is better.

LINUX - First binary version

The first official binary version of Lucas Chess on Linux has just been released. It has only been made possible by the great work done by Laudecir Daniel , choosing and compiling the 67 engines, as well as laying the groundwork so that the binaries can be more widely used and others such as shortcut creation, installation scripts, ...... In addition,  Graham O'Neill  has provided Linux-specific drivers for several digital boards. This version has two limitations : 64-bit Linux OS only. Minimum GNU libc version: 2.26 (ldd --version shows it) Installation has been made as simple as possible: The installer is a .sh file, generated with the  makeself  tool, and can be downloaded from: SourceForge , GitHub The file must be run from a terminal with user permissions only: sh ./LucasChessR123_LINUX.sh Launches a GUI with very basic options: Install: Installs in LucasChessR folder inside the home user folder. Generates a shortcut in Applications > Games Launch the application at the end
